CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
YOUTH DANCE MEETING 2021
APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED: 20 MAY 2021
Participation in the eight-day Tanztreffen der Jugend in Berlin is the prize of a nationwide competition.
We are looking for solo/duo and ensemble pieces as well as media dance projects by and with young people!
For participation in the Tanztreffen der Jugend we do not only invite finished dance pieces. We would also like to give space to all formats that, despite the pandemic-related restrictions, find ways to experiment with movement languages of contemporary and/or urban dance also involving different media and to find their own forms of expression in projects and pieces, both in schools, independent contexts and dance schools as well as in theatres and youth institutions, with or without guidance. There are no time, formal or thematic constraints. It doesn't matter what the starting point is, whether it's 10 minutes or two hours: As always, the Tanztreffen der Jugend is about showing dance art - whether in completely new presentation forms, workshop formats or as pieces - and sharing it with all actors and enriching it with views and perspectives.
Call for applications begins October 2020
Application deadline 20 May 2021

This gives artists the opportunity to show their work to a German audience and to exchange ideas with the local art scene.
Applications can be submitted by festivals, theatres and organisers in Germany who would like to invite the groups. Criteria for support are the quality of the production, the relevance of the organiser and national visibility. Only the travel and transport costs of theatre and dance ensembles from cooperation countries of German development cooperation are supported.
