MOV'IN CANNES | Call for Dance Films

Requirements

Applications open on December 1st for a screening of the selected films and the announcement of the awards winniers during the Cannes International Dance Festival, on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 at the Cineum of Cannes, in front of the festival-goers and the jury made up of professionals from the worlds of dance and cinema.


Two ways to join in the competition:

  • via the international dance film festivas partners: Suzanne Dellal Center - Tel Aviv, Cinedance - Montreal, Inshadow Festival - Lisbon, Centre National de la Danse - Paris, Physical Cinema Festival - Reykjavik... Each partner will send its "favorite" film to be included in the selection

  • via a call for entries on www.festivaldedanse-cannes.com open from December 1, 2022 to March 1, 2023.


Selection criteria are:

  • open to all short films (fiction, animation, documentary, etc.) using dance and movement in their purpose or as narrative device

  • film length must be under 10 minutes

  • open to all international productions and coproductions 


To ensure a pre-selection of films that will have responded to the call for participation, the artistic direction will work with viewing panels made up of students from the BTS Audiovisual Cannes and educational structures of the University of Côte d'Azur (ESRA, PNSD Rosella Hightower, Villa Arson, DE Ecritures créatives et Scénario, Licence Arts du spectacle - EUR CREATES) within the framework of the 100% EAC scheme led by the City of Cannes.
