"Best Practice" Lecture and Practical Workshop
Credible, emotional and direct: How do you communicate successfully in social media? A "best practice" introduction to the topic of social media communication with the head of the Berliner Ensemble's communications department: Ingo Sawilla will use many practical examples in this workshop to talk about strategies for both efficient and creative use of social media for cultural institutions, groups and artists, and together develop ideas for concrete implementation in daily work. He has more than 10 years of social media experience at the Residenztheater, the Berliner Ensemble and at various festivals.

Ingo Sawilla studied German language and literature and theater studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. Already during his studies he worked for the Munich Volkstheater as well as various theater projects and festivals. His path then led him to Berlin and Cologne in 2009, where he was in charge of public relations for numerous institutions, festivals and independent projects in Germany and abroad with a focus on theater and dance, including the Berliner Festspiele, the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen and the Theater Festival Impulse. With the beginning of Martin Kušej's directorship at the Residenztheater in 2011, he was responsible for the complete online communication of the house as well as press relations for six years. For several years, he has given workshops and lectures in the field of online communication for cultural institutions and worked freelance, including for the Bayreuth Festival. Since the 2017/18 season, he has headed the Communications & Audience Development department of the Berliner Ensemble.
