Irineu Nogueira

Choreographer, Teacher, Producer

Irineu Nogueira is a choreographer, dance educator, movement coach, event producer and performance designer living in Munich since early 2019. He holds a Masters in Performance Design and Practice from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London), has been a dance teacher at The Place and Siobhan Davies Studios and a movement tutor for actors at the prestigious Guildhall School of Drama and Music in London. He collaborates with major international names in dance, theater, and music, and his work is often multidisciplinary, crossing into opera, theater, musicals, cinema, and circus. His approach incorporates eclectic references and experiences, combining contemporary dance techniques with the diversity of Afro-Brazilian culture to create a unique methodology for the body.


Irineu Nogueira is also known for Samba and Afro-Brazilian culture, leading the opening section of the Samba Schools at the São Paulo Carnival and receiving the Estandarte de Ouro (Gold Standard) in 2008. He also founded the Bloco Serafina, the Bambas Festival - A Movement and Music Festival, the VOA Dance Retreat - A Dance Journey to Brazil, and the International Samba Congress Europe, held for the first time in the city of Munich in 2019. Irineu choreographs and leads dance workshops worldwide and currently offers regular Samba no Pé and Afro-Brazilian dance classes online or as a presence course at CAMP Movement Point in Munich.
