Martina La Ragione

Dancer, Choreographer

After 10 years of training in Vaganova Ballet, Martina La Ragione continues her dance training with Teri J. Weike, Frey Faust (one of the first teachers of Axis Syllabus, Frey Faust's method), Ivan Wolfe and Janet Panetta.

1993-1997 she works for the American choreographer Teri J. Weikel and dances in all productions of the company TIR DANZA, Modena

1999-2002 she works for Carolyn Carlson in the company Biennale di Venezia and dances in "Light Bringers" and "J.Beuys Song", CH: Carolyn Carlson

Performances with the "Palindrome Dance Company" (Robert Wechsler, Nuremberg).

Choreography and dance in: "Soloperdue" and "Long Necked Chicken", a duet with Italian musician Luigi Mosso, performances in Italy, France and Czech Republic, Festival Drodesera-Trento, Festival Lavori in Pelle-Ravenna, Cantieri Teatrali Koreja-Lecce, Festival Ammutinamenti-Ravenna, DanaeMilano-Festival, Teatro Due-Parma, Opera House Bassano Opera, Festival Tanec Praha, Festival of the Cité de Lausanne (Marco Cantalupo).

2008-2009 After "Progetto Canova", a dance project with the Israeli choreographer Iris Erez, she is selected together with her colleague Valentina Buldrini for the "Choreoroam", a project of ten young choreographers (Italy / Bassano Opera Estate, UK / The Place) London, Netherlands / Danse Atelier Rotterdam) choreography and dance in the duet "I sold my fur".

2009-2014 she works as a dancer and rehearsal director for Deja Donné (Simone Sandroni and Lenka Flory): "A Glimpse of Hope", "PS Martina La Ragione"( a portrait created for her by Sandroni) "Not Made for Flying" and "Quartet". She is in residencies and guest performances in Munich with the pieces of Deja Donné. "Not Made for Flying" was premiered as part of DANCE in Munich.

She assists choreographer Simone Sandroni on "The Girl and the Knife Thrower" for the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich. She continues to work with the Bavarian State Ballet as choreographer and dance teacher for "Anna Tanzt" and "Heinrich Tanzt" , a joint production of the Bavarian State Ballet / CAMPUS, Fokus Tanz/Tanz und Schule e.V. the Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium. With a choreography for young people she participates in the festival Think Big! 2014 in Munich.

In 2011, together with Valentina Buldrini, she wins the "Premio Equilibrio" at Roma Auditorium with the duet "WILL" (jury president Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), held in Milan, PIM OFF, Paris, June. This is followed by performances NID platform, Pisa (Italy), Edinburgh Fringe Dance Base Festival 2014.

2013-2014 she dances for Romeo Castellucci in "Parsifal" at Teatro Comunale di Bologna ", choreography by Cindy Van Acker.

In 2016-2018 she continues to collaborate as a dancer and choreographer under the new artistic direction of Virginia Spallarossa and Gilles Toutevoix, Company Deja Donné. She creates the solo "I Always Wanted Be..." (Tour of Italy)

She wins the call for young choreographers "Resid'AND" at the Accademia Nazionale di Roma and creates "Modo", a piece developed for the third year dance students.

Guest choreographer at DAF (Mauro Astolfi Dance Center, Lanificio, Rome) for the professional Daf project.

She works for Italian choreographer Gabriella Maiorino (Italy / Amsterdam) for her latest new project UOVO. Martina La Ragione is a lecturer for professional dance training at AFI (Art Factory International) under the artistic direction of Brigel Gjoka, and in 2017 she is a guest lecturer for the Junior Company of the Bavarian State Ballet under the direction of Ivan Liska.

She lives in Bologna and in Munich. She receives advice and support from Tanzbüro München.
