Alfredo Zinola

Choreographer, Performer

Alfredo Zinola is a choreographer and performer living in Munich and Cologne. He completed his studies at the University of Turin with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology – Intercultural Communication and attended the course "Curating in Performing Arts" at the University of Salzburg and LMU Munich. He also studied Modern Dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

His main artistic focus lies on producing contemporary dance pieces for young audiences. He aims to expand the boundaries of what a performance for children can be and questions the relationship between society and childhood. In his work, Zinola attempts to create a consistent and uncompromising experience between the audience and performers.

Since 2016, he has collaborated with Micaela Kühn at Alfredo Zinola Productions. In 2016, he was awarded "Tanz-Hoffnungsträger" (Dance Hope-Bearer) by the specialist magazine tanz, and in 2022, he received the Performing Arts Prize of the City of Düsseldorf.

From 2020 to 2022, he was Factory Artist at tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf. Since 2022, he has been developing the project "Punctures" together with two colleagues, which examines the connection between artistic practice and biodiversity conservation.
