Zufit Simon
Performer, Choreographer
The focus and goal of my work is to question the self-evident, to create confusion - first with me, then with the audience - in order to confront one's own perception and self-evidence. I present this with the help of the body, as part of an overall picture.
Born in Israel in 1980, learned classical dance there, 1986-1998 at the Miriam Kaufmann - Classical Ballet School in Petach-Tikva and 1995-1998 at the "Amal Alef" Performing arts school in Petach-Tikva, Israel, and studied contemporary dance at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (HfMDK) in Frankfurt am Main (1998 - 2001). She danced for various companies, such as Christoph Winkler, Ingo Reulecke, Fabian Chyle, CobosMika, Micha Purucker, Stephan Herwig and Sabine Glenz.
In Berlin she showed her first choreographic solo works, followed by invitations to national invitations to national and international festivals, e.g. Italy, Austria, Tanzania, the Czech Republic, Poland and France.
Zufit Simon was selected in 2012 with the solo "Wild Thing" for pitching at the Tanzplattform Deutschland in Dresden and showed in Kampnagel Hamburg in 2014 at the Tanzplattform Deutschland the choreographic
