Andrea Marton
Dance professional
Andrea Marton works at the intersection of dance art, cultural education, and sociocultural work.
In 2006, she co-founded Fokus Tanz (formerly Tanz in Schulen) together with Simone Schulte and Katja Schneider, as well as the federal association Aktion Tanz in Bildung und Gesellschaft.
Andrea develops and researches intergenerational formats in dance art and mediation. She is part of the leadership team of Communitydance at HP8, the Kammerspielen, and LUISE Munich.
In recent years, her project work has focused on body-diverse approaches to dance. Since 2024, she has been researching body-diverse methods for dance mediation and dance art together with her wheelchair-using colleague, Vanessa Thron. This research has been/is supported by scholarships from BLZT and the City of Munich.
Her approach is characterized by participatory, age-independent, and democracy-sensitizing mediation methods for schools, studios, stages, and public spaces. Her curiosity lies in the diversity of dancers in the context of societal developments.
