Paula Rosolen

Choreographer, Artistic Director

Paula Rosolen studied dance at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and completed her Master’s degree in choreography at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Justus Liebig University in Giessen.


Paula Rosolen is Aerowaves Artist #Twenty26. Her choreographic works – including *Aerobics! A Ballet in 3 Acts* (2015), *FLAGS* (2020), *16BIT* (2022), Beat by Bits (2022), the Crash Test Series (2022–2025) and NOICE/NOISE (2025) – have been performed internationally in theatres, at festivals, in museums, galleries and in public spaces, including the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, the Festival Paris l’été, Espace 1789, Nuit Blanche, the Théâtre de Vanves, deSingel, le Carreau du Temple, the Basel Theatre Festival, the Tokyo Festival, the Centro Cultural Vila Flor (CCVF), Tanzplattform Deutschland, Mousonturm, HELLERAU, schwere reiter, CCC Buenos Aires, the Museum of Applied Arts, Loods6 Amsterdam and the Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art.


She has worked as a guest director and choreographer at the Cologne Opera, the Stadttheater Gießen and the Staatstheater Darmstadt. For her work, she was awarded first prize by Danse Élargie (Théâtre de la Ville, Paris) and received fellowships for international residencies, including at Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto, the Visiting Fellowship of the Saison Foundation in Tokyo, and the Hessian Cultural Foundation at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.


She has served as a jury member for international competitions and funding programmes and has led workshops and masterclasses in the USA, Japan, Argentina, Germany and France.
