Rotem Weissmann

Choreographer, Dancer, Performer

Rotem Weissman is a choreographer and dancer whose work explores the body as a site of memory, transformation, and imagination. Her choreographic language is characterized by precise coordination, joint isolation, and a dynamic balance between tension and release. She approaches the body as an instrument capable of extending beyond its physical limits, opening new possibilities for perception and expression.

Drawing inspiration from nature, femininity, and the mythical dimensions of human experience, Weissman creates performative worlds that are often poetic, and ritualistic in nature. Her artistic practice investigates how personal and collective narratives are embodied, transmitted, and transformed through movement, sound, and presence. Rather than presenting fixed stories, her work focuses on creating experiences that allow different meanings, associations, and interpretations to emerge.

Through processes of deconstruction and embodied research, she explores states of non-performance, vulnerability, and becoming. Her work is deeply responsive to the atmosphere, architecture, and social dynamics of a space, revealing bodies not as representations, but as living archives in continuous negotiation with themselves, others, and their environment.
